ICANN participated in TOT on Internet Governance in Ouagadougou
There were a total of 40 participants to this event including trainers. The event was organized by the Ministry digital Economy, the Regulator (ARCEP), ITICC association and Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). ICANN staff made presentation on the following topics:
- History of the Internet from the early years
- IANA Stewardship Transition and Enhancing ICANN Accountability
- The ICANN Africa Strategy
- Challenges in the Internet Governance
- BCG report
During the last day, the participants shared their views on the best strategy that could enable more concrete actions to solve various governance issues covered. They called for a replication of such activities at the country level and also a continuous effort for information sharing on best practices.
